Yesterday was truly one of the good days in a time that sees fewer. The Supreme Court outlawed the execution of teenagers in this country! We were the last nation on earth to condone such a practice. My home "Law & Order" state of Delaware was one of the twenty US states that had continued to grant judges and juries this option, although in fairness Texas was really the place that took the most advantage of it. In a truly hopeful sign Justice Kennedy, who cast the deciding vote on the issue, sited world opinion in his decision. World opinion!!  Can you imagine? As if other human beings could help point us back towards our better selves! It was truly a step towards our becoming the more just and humane society many of us believe our country can be.
