I went down to the dock this morning
but your boat was gone
They said that you’d gone out before the sun
You cast off all the lines that tied you
to this troubled world
Knowing that the storms of life were done

Though people Jesus loved came from
most every walk of life
Those he was closest to were fishermen
Their rough and salty ways could not hide
from the master’s eyes
The good and faithful hearts that beat within

Like that long ago night on the
Sea of Galilee
When the gale had terrified his friends
You called out his name and Jesus
lifted up his hand
Addressed the squall and hushed the raging wind  chorus

No waves will capsize you now or
break across your bow
And when the fog has lifted from our eyes
We will see you smiling with the
warm sun on your face 
Where sea birds soar like angels in the skies  chorus
