I got to attend the Camp Dreamcatcher holiday bash yesterday in Kennett Square. Coincidentally, SingOut Magazine asked me just a few days ago to explain my connection to and affection for Camp… I can’t even remember what I answered; I’m not really good at being interviewed. But as I reflected on it driving home from the party, I realized it was the smiles. These kids flash smiles like big shiny passkeys that open up every lock you ever had guarding your heart… and you see more smiles at Camp Dreamcatcher in ten minutes than you do in a month out on the street. That’s why we’ll be singing on the last Friday night of 2007. Please come out and help forge a passkey…! I wish all my friends – the ones I’ve gotten to know and love, and the ones I haven’t even met – a wonderful holiday season. May it bring many, many smiles! (c) John Flynn, All rights reserved
